Make memories, not more junk.

a fitting quote from the book. I was tempted to just read the section of interest, but don't skip the intro, this book is funny, sometimes hilarious, full of common sense and great ideas. I loved the window paint and jewel snow recipes!
I was going to look at cookies recipes that don't cost an arm and a leg in special tools or ingredients but I ended up reading the whole thing as a fun relaxing read. I am currently finishing a felt quiet book for my 2 year old for Christmas. It feels far away until you count the weeks and how much "free time" I actually get every week as a homeschooling mom...
Also I'll share here a couple things we do before Christmas, some Christians (Catholics, Orthodox and a few other denominations) prepare for Christ's birth with Advent. during advent my family fasts from meat during the week, we have oatmeal for breakfast every day and no dessert, that really makes the celebration like St Nicolas day special. We also use candles for the dinner table, and do no screen or bright lights in the evenings.
